Free, client-led exercise and nutrition coaching for clients facing mental health challenges.
About the Wellness Program
ServiceNet’s Wellness Program offers free, client-led exercise and nutrition coaching for clients facing mental health challenges through one-on-one sessions focused on movement and nutrition.
Our Health Mentors provide tailored guidance to help clients achieve both short-term and long-term wellness goals, including improving health markers, reducing disease risk, and improving their overall sense of wellbeing.
Our holistic, client-centered approach ensures that lifestyle changes are sustainable and fit each client’s unique needs.
Current Program Requirements
Currently, anyone who is receiving services through Northampton and Greenfield’s Outpatient clinics is eligible for ServiceNet’s Wellness Program. We hope to expand availability as the program continues to grow.
Our Approach
Our Wellness Program embraces a client-focused approach to movement and exercise. We explore innovative and engaging ways to keep clients excited about their wellness activities. We believe that making lasting lifestyle changes shouldn’t be daunting, so we offer small, manageable adjustments over time.
We recommend clients enroll for a minimum of six months to ensure they receive the support necessary for making sustainable, lifelong improvements. These incremental changes accumulate to create significant results.
Additionally, we use minimal equipment, allowing participants to easily replicate their exercises at home or in the gym.
Movement
Each one-hour session includes some form of movement or activity. Options range from walking along the nearby bike path, to completing a custom circuit workout designed by a health mentor, or even playing Dance Dance Revolution or other sport-based games on the Nintendo Switch. Clients might also try gentle yoga or Pilates or a seated stretching and strengthening routine.
Our wellness movement studios are equipped with simple and effective tools for moving and exercising including:
- Treadmill
- Recumbent Bike
- Bosu balls
- Resistance bands
- Yoga mats, blocks, and straps
- Dumbbells
- Medicine balls
- Foam rollers
