How We Help
If intrusive, unwelcome thoughts cause you a lot of anxiety; if you feel you must do certain behaviors or rituals to relieve that anxiety; if you have been pulling at your hair or picking at your skin to reduce tension; if you see your body, or parts of your body, differently than others do; if you avoid certain activities because they cause you distress; or if your stuff is taking over your home but you just can’t part with it, we can help.
Services
Our OCD & Related Disorders Program offers Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy – the best-proven approach for moving beyond Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Hoarding Disorder, and other related disorders.
Each person’s treatment approach is individually developed, and participants commit to an action plan that will help them make real change in their lives. They learn how to test their beliefs and tolerate unwelcome thoughts without using compulsive behaviors for relief. We offer:
- Individual therapy for adults and adolescents
- Family and/or couples therapy when helpful
- Medication management
- Community-based and in-home support
- Group therapy options, including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the 16-week Buried in Treasures group
These services for OCD & Related Disorders are offered at our Behavioral Health Centers in Northampton, Greenfield, and Holyoke.
