Skillbuilders Makerspace+ is an innovative community-based day program for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. It provides an environment where participants can explore their passions, learn new skills, and engage in collaborative activities that enrich their lives.

Participants will ignite their curiosity, grow creatively, and flourish socially. Opportunities to engage include:

  • Ceramics/Pottery
  • Textiles/Sewing/Knitting
  • Painting & Drawing
  • Screen Printing
  • Lego Engineering
  • Small Robotics
  • Basic Coding
  • Jewelry
  • 3D Printing
  • Computers 101 & Typing
  • Model Building
  • Gaming & Virtual Reality

The program consists of multiple state-of-the-art studios, as well as a Makerspace Lounge. The program also hosts regular community outings focused on art, technology, and engineering.

In addition, participants have the chance to connect with therapeutic animals at ServiceNet’s Prospect Meadow Farm, further enhancing their overall experience.

Located in Chicopee, the program runs Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Transportation is available from most parts of western Massachusetts.

The program is now accepting participants and invites individuals to embark on a journey of exploration, learning, and collaboration.
