Successful Opening Reception for ServiceNet’s Second Annual Art Show
The opening reception of ServiceNet’s second annual art show for mental health and wellbeing was a successful event, attracting over 100 guests to celebrate creativity and community.
Held on October 10, World Mental Health Day, the event featured a diverse audience, including ServiceNet participants and artists, community members, and notable attendees such as Gina-Louise Sciarra, the mayor of Northampton; David Sullivan, Northwestern District Attorney; and an aide representing Lindsay Sabadosa, Massachusetts State Representative.
The event featured live music and food catered by ServiceNet’s own Rooster Cafe. The event also featured the presentation of two new awards: the Art for Community Award, given to Michael Tillyer and Susan Foley, co-directors of the New England Visionary Artists Museum (NEVA) and the Anchor House of Artists, and the ServiceNet Creative Wellbeing Award, presented to Rob Paradis Stern, Peer Services Manager in ServiceNet’s Mental Health Recovery Services division.
Additionally, the evening marked the official launch of ServiceNet’s 2024 fall fundraising campaign, “Together, We Thrive,” highlighting ServiceNet’s commitment to promoting wellbeing through all their 100+ programs and services.
For those who could not attend the reception, tours of the art show are available until the end of the month. To schedule a tour, please contact Amy Diehl at [email protected]. The show will then travel to several libraries and other locations across western Massachusetts.
