Jess Beebe Brings Empathy and Experience to Her Role As Human Resources Administrative Assistant

For ServiceNet staff and community members, Jess Beebe is perhaps one of the most familiar people at ServiceNet, even if they don’t realize it. 

As the human resources administrative assistant at ServiceNet’s main administrative office at 21 Olander in Northampton, she works at the front desk and is the first point of contact when you call the main line, attend a training at Olander, or stop in with a question. And while she has been in the position for just under a year, she is by no means new to ServiceNet.   

Jess, who has been with ServiceNet for nearly seven years, previously worked at both residential programs and as a staff member at the Enrichment Center. She holds a CNA and a medical billing degree, and she loves to be busy with different types of tasks, something there is no shortage of at the front desk. She sees her varied experience within the agency as a key strength for her new role.  

“Because of my experience in the agency, I can relate to many of the different employees that I communicate with. I can also empathize with the clients and community members who reach out, and I want to help everyone get the information they need,” Jess says. “I have a child with behavioral issues, and I struggle with depression and anxiety. So, I understand that perspective also. And I’ve always wanted to help people live their best lives in whatever aspect I can.”  

Despite pivoting to the administrative side of ServiceNet, Jess hasn’t completely given up her direct care work. She continues to keep up on her training and still assists when she can in the residences.  

“I like helping people,” Jess says. “I come in with a smile. I leave with a smile even if the day is challenging because there are many different things I might need to juggle. But everybody’s friendly. Everybody’s welcoming and comfortable. And that is so important.”
