The Northampton Chamber of Commerce and ServiceNet’s Prospect Meadow Farm Partner for Upcoming netWORK Event

The Northampton Chamber of Commerce has selected ServiceNet’s Prospect Meadow Farm for their next netWORK event. Through the netWORK program, the Chamber partners with a local non-profit and invites the Greater Northampton Chamber community to participate in a volunteer project to benefit that organization.

The farm’s netWORK event will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022, with a morning and afternoon work shift available. Volunteers will choose from several tasks including field work (weeding/harvesting), mushroom work, and animal work. The day will also include a tour of the farm, and lunch provided by ServiceNet’s Rooster Café.

ServiceNet’s Prospect Meadow Farm—a therapeutic vocational farming program for individuals with developmental disability, autism, or brain injury—provides employment support and meaningful daily activities to 80+ participants, many of whom also have mental health challenges.

Since the farm opened in 2011, hundreds of participants have taken part in meaningful agricultural work, received a fair wage, contributed to the local food economy, and been supported in their personal and professional growth as they further explored employment in a variety of workplaces.

The farm is also currently embarking on an exciting renovation and expansion project, which will transform the 3,200 square-foot residential farmhouse located at 103 Prospect Street in Hatfield into a modern training facility. These significant upgrades will enhance and expand participants’ experience and increase our capacity to offer more services to more people.
