A supportive, drug-free, alcohol-free community can make all the difference on the road to recovery.
How We Help
The staff in our recovery houses offer support to residents, in an environment where residents also support each other. Together, we create a culture in which all are committed to meaningful, drug-free living.
Our philosophy is that addiction is an illness. We provide residents with a safe place where they may acquire the necessary skills and supports to keep them on the recovery path.
Recovery houses serve as transitional residences for men and women 18 years of age and older, who are in the early stages of recovery from addiction. Our supportive environment is staffed by skilled case managers and support staff 24 hours-a-day.
When Devon hit bottom, the Beacon House was there to support her through the first several months of her recovery. Finding a way to give back to the community, she and a local firefighter co-founded the Firebird 5K Race Against Addiction, calling attention to the opioid crisis and raising funds to support long-term sober housing.
Our goal is to provide residents with the structure and support they need to establish meaningful, drug-free living, and to prepare them for return to independent living in the community. In addition to on-site support, we offer residents comprehensive case management which may include referral to professional counseling, vocational rehabilitation, education and literacy programs, and housing assistance services. We further encourage each program participant to develop a recovery support system in the wider community.
Individuals who wish to live in one of our Recovery Houses must be medically stable before entering the program, having already completed withdrawal from substances.
Applicants complete a screening process, and appropriate candidates are then scheduled for admission or placed on our waiting list for the next available opening. To find out more about the screening process or to set up a screening, please contact our Intake Coordinator at 413-772-6100 x811209.
