ServiceNet Hosts Art Reception Celebrating Creativity and Community in Chicopee

ServiceNet recently hosted an art reception at the Chicopee Public Library, showcasing artwork created by members of its community. The exhibit, on display in the library’s community room throughout the month of February, highlights pieces from participants in ServiceNet’s Enrichment Center and Skillbuilders Makerspace+, two Chicopee-based day programs.

The Enrichment Center provides a supportive space for individuals with brain injuries, offering creative and social opportunities that enhance well-being. Skillbuilders Makerspace+ is an innovative program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, blending art and technology to foster creativity, skill-building, and self-expression.

The reception featured remarks from Jennifer Pickering, District Director for Senator Jake Oliveira, and Bruno Calouro, ServiceNet’s CEO and President. Many of the featured artists attended, and when asked why they enjoy making art, they shared that it helps them through difficult times and serves as a way to connect their mind, heart, and body.

Guests also enjoyed refreshments prepared by ServiceNet’s culinary program, a vocational training initiative for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this inspiring event!
