RVCC’s 11th Annual Golf Tournament Raises $33,000 for Children’s Behavioral Health Programs

River Valley Counseling Center (RVCC), a member of ServiceNet, raised nearly $33,000 at its 11th Annual Golf Tournament — the tournament’s highest total in recent years.
The proceeds will support RVCC’s Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative and School-Based Therapy programs, which provide therapeutic counseling and support for children and teens in schools, homes, and communities.
“This year’s tournament was an extraordinary success,” said ServiceNet Senior Vice President of Clinical Services Dr. Elaine Campbell, “and I’m glad to see both of these excellent programs recognized during a great day on the links. One of the ways we use the funds is to buy toys, games, and art supplies to help kids express themselves during counseling. We are deeply grateful to the community for responding so enthusiastically to support kids’ mental health.”
More than 130 golfers spent Friday, Sept. 18, on the course at Eastern Mountain Country Club in Westfield, Mass., with games and contests adding to the friendly competition. Off the course, golfers entered a raffle for prizes including a new golf club, gift cards, and extra-lucky lottery tickets.

The 50/50 raffle even turned into a 100/100 raffle thanks to Mike Prignano, owner of Hillside Builder. Prignano won $400 of the $800 raffle pot — and promptly donated his winnings back to RVCC.
Cataldo Ambulance Service once again served as the tournament’s presenting sponsor and brought an ambulance to the course for the occasion. The wail of its siren officially kicked off the tournament.
Afterward, golfers gathered for dinner, where they had a chance to meet RVCC staff and learn more about the programs their participation was helping to support.
