Gold Strike: Resident Earns Gold Medal at Special Olympics Bowling Tournament

Clay, a resident of one of ServiceNet’s Developmental and Brain Injury Services (DBIS) homes, earned a gold medal during the Special Olympics Bowling Tournament on March 15 in Auburn, Massachusetts.

Over twenty different teams from across Massachusetts competed at the event, each competitor trying their hardest to win and take home the gold.

Clay was accompanied by two staff members, Kofi Akuffo and Andrews Afoakwah, who brought Clay to the event, supporting and cheering for him as he worked hard for his gold medal.

Special Olympics Coach Sue Wallace had nothing but praise for the team: “Clay’s team was amazing! Clay arrived early, he was calm and ready to go. He did some of his best bowling and got the gold! His smile says it all! Your team checked in with me, cheered Clay on and really made a difference. They definitely went above and beyond. Such kindness. I’m truly grateful. Clay was beaming!”
